Features of high-speed milling

2021-08-19

High-speed milling generally uses high milling speed, appropriate feed rate, and small radial and axial milling depths. During milling, a large amount of milling heat is taken away by chips, so the surface temperature of the workpiece is low. As the milling speed increases, the milling force decreases slightly, the surface quality improves, and the processing productivity increases. However, in the range of high-speed machining, the tool wear will increase with the increase of milling speed. Due to the high speed of the spindle, it is difficult for cutting fluid to be injected into the processing area. Oil mist cooling or water mist cooling is usually used.
